Netanya, Israel January 5, 2010 – Metrolight (www.metrolight.com), the world’s premier manufacturer of Electronic High Intensity Discharge (EHID) lighting solutions, announced today that together with West-Lite Supply Co., Inc., it has successfully completed upgrading the lighting systems at 90 BevMo! locations across the Western United States, providing the beverage retailer with almost $1m in annual energy savings. This upgrade was the largest electronic HID retrofit project in California in 2009.
West-Lite Supply, a leading lighting solutions company headquarted in Los Angeles, was searching for an energy saving lighting solution for its customer, BevMo! Metrolight’s SmartHID™ solution was chosen for this project over some of the most established companies and technologies in the lighting industry because of its technology and ability to customize a solution for Bevmo. The project was subsidized through several state utility rebate programs
“BevMo! is so pleased with the performance of the product that it has specified that Metrolight’s technology be used for the lighting systems in all BevMo! stores currently under construction,” said Eric Marquart BevMo!’s Director of Construction “Metrolight has not only allowed us to significantly reduce the amount we spend on lighting solutions, but their technology has enhanced our famous BevMo! experience, which hinges on our unique color-coded classification system and friendly and welcoming environment.”
To maximize savings for BevMo!, Metrolight replaced thousands of 250 watt magnetic HID fixtures with Metrolight’s SmartHID 150 watt Electronic HID fixtures, allowing BevMo! to maintain required lighting levels throughout their stores, an integral piece of the chain’s inviting and entertaining shopping experience.

Using Metrolight’s solutions BevMo! expects to achieve 51% in energy savings, reduce its lighting maintenance costs by almost 50% and realize close to $300,000 in utility rebates.
